Dedicated to the memory of Rebecca Dorman

Rebecca Lee Dorman, a resident of Pittsburg, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 95 years of age.

Rebecca and Russell Lee Dorman were married on April 5,1941, at Preston, Missouri, by Rev. Sherman Bybee.  Rebecca and Russell shared more than 70 years together before Russell’s passing. They enjoyed hunting and fishing, a love they shared with their children and grandchildren. Rebecca also loved tending to her chickens, vegetable, fruit and flower gardens until she was no longer able.  Rebecca accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized at the age of 19.  Her faith in the Lord was always strong, a virtue she strove to instill in her family, and she was very active in church as her health allowed.  She became a Charter Member of Pomme de Terre United Methodist Church in Hermitage, Missouri, on August 4, 1991, and had made Pomme de Terre her spiritual home since then.  She considered the members of Pomme de Terre her second family and would often lift them up in her daily prayers alongside her family.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one infant brother, three brothers and their wives, three sisters and their husbands, one daughter-in-law, and one grandson.

She is survived by her four children, Marvin, Barbara, Dean and Sharon; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Ellen Hoff of Pomme de Terre United Methodist Church will officiate the services at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 1st atHathaway-Peterman Funeral Chapel in Wheatland, followed by burial at PittsburgMissionary Baptist Cemetery, Pittsburg, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday at Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Chapel.
